our projects
How we are helping disadvantaged children learn and thrive in Asia.
The Rumi-Tejani Foundation plays a significant role in the education of girls. With initiatives such as digital libraries, scholarships, and workshops, we are preparing girls to inspire others, lead change and realise their full potential.
giving opportunities to learn
The Rumi-Tejani Digital Library
The foundation has partnered with CEENA, which works with disadvantaged children, including some abandoned at birth, in Gilgit-Baltistan, a mountainous region of Northern Pakistan made up of remote communities.
Together, The Rumi-Tejani Foundation and CEENA, have set up a digital library which has given children access to books and resources from libraries across the globe and allows them to stream lessons on a wealth of subjects. Furthermore, it will enable them to gain the technological literacy skills required to remain relevant in a rapidly changing world.

The library has benefited 100 children and will continue to benefit more children as the scope of CEENA grows.
“The Rumi-Tejani Library is an invaluable resource for Ceena children who come from some of the most disadvantaged communities of northern Pakistan. It is helping them learn new skills at an accelerated speed. It gives them access to a modern paradigm of learning. They have been using the facility with interest and enthusiasm, for academic purposes and also simply to increase their knowledge about the world they live in.”

The Rumi-Tejani Scholarship Program
Whilst Rumina Tejani was battling cancer, she wanted to leave this world creating an impact on lives less fortunate than hers. And so, she sold her wedding jewellery to raise funds to educate girls in Pakistan – an initiative still running today. The Rumi-Tejani Scholarship Program is currently educating six girls in Karachi, Pakistan and Gujarat, India; find out more about them and their journeys below.
